Product overview




Salah Space is a free platform for people to book prayer slots at their local mosque and for mosques to manage their prayers safely during COVID-19.


Platform security


The platform was built with user privacy and security in mind. All databases are encrypted and hidden behind a virtual private network. Databases are not accessible via the internet and can only be accessed via servers within it’s private network. All traffic is encrypted via a secure ssl connection between the client and server. The Salah Space team have been trained with industry standards such as OWASP TOP 10 ( This ensures that all code written is of the highest quality and security. The OWASP Top 10 is a standard awareness document for developers and web application security. It represents a broad consensus about the most critical security risks to web applications.


No marketing policy


At Salah Space we have a strict no marketing policy. All mosques must agree to this before being onboarded. Data shared must never be used for marketing purposes. If these terms are violated, the organisation will be removed from the platform and reported to the ICO.


Data sharing agreements


All organisations must agree to a data sharing agreement between Salah Space and themselves. This ensures that the organisation takes the following responsibilities for the data shared with them:


  • Agree to only use the information given to me for the purpose of booking a salah space and for NHS track and trace.
  • Agree to not share the information with any third party / organisation.
  • Agree to take necessary steps to ensure that any printed material is securely destroyed after the intended use has expired.
  • Agree to not keep this information for the purpose of marketing or fundraising or any other purpose other than for the booking a salah space and for NHS track and trace.

What data is being captured


As part of the use of the platform. There are a number of personal information data points which are collected in order to facilitate the need / request of users. For users who are booking a space, the following personal information will be collected:


  • First name
  • Last name
  • Email
  • Phone number


For mosque / organisations, the following personal information will be collected:


  • Name of mosque
  • Email
  • Phone number
  • Address line 1
  • Address line 2
  • City / town
  • County
  • Post code




All users are verified at the minimum by email verification. We continuously monitor user behaviour to ensure that spam accounts are detected automatically and removed. Additional verification is completed by our onboarding team for mosques or any members of the Salah space team.


These verification may include but not limited to:


  • Face to face interview
  • Telephone interview
  • Social media presence checks
  • Reference checks
  • Company house / charity commission checks
  • ID checks
  • Driving licence checks
  • DBS checks (Staff only)


These checks ensure that the users data is safe and secure at all times. Continuous checks are always performed at a regular basis to ensure that there are no circumstances that could damage the reputation of Salah Space.


Data retention policy


The personal data will be retained for a period of 37 days after the intended use has expired. This will be done for legal purposes. Once this period expires, all expired personal information will be removed permanently. Organisations are required to delete all personal data immediately upon expiration of intended use. Salaah space may do random spot checks to ensure users are abiding by the agreement. If an organisation requires data regarding a specific booking, they may request data via legal representation on
